The British Truck Racing Championship speeds into Snetterton this weekend (July 11-12) and in Division 2 there is one question that is on everyone’s lips; can anyone stop reigning champion Jake Evans?

Since the curtain lifted at Brands Hatch back in April, the MAN driver has been a tour-de-force at the front of the field – and the statistics are there to reinforce his superlative start to the 2026 campaign too.

Chalking up a total of nine race wins, Evans has matched consistency with his eye-catching speed. In the contests that he didn’t win, the Staffordshire racer has claimed runners-up laurels; meaning he is yet to finish off the podium this year.

Those remarkable results have unsurprisingly given the current title holder a healthy advantage towards to the top of the championship standings. And it is a position he is eager to defend in Norfolk this weekend.

When it comes to who could overhaul Evans, the lead contenders giving chase currently are former champion John Powell and last year’s vice-champion, Callum Eason.

Both drivers have stood on the top step of the podium this term and on their day, they are more than capable of matching Evans on-track. With such a big points gap to close down, some seismic weekends are required but discount either of them at your peril.

Elsewhere, the Weaver Motorsport duo of Bradley Harvey and Warren Harvey will look to make an impression towards the front of the field once more, while Sami Ojanen will look to build on the encouraging debut he had in his Mercedes Ateco last month.

Completing the Division 2 grid is the father-son pairing of Simon Cole and Archie Handy. After enduring some early season woes, the Iveco double act returned to lay down some solid foundations at Pembrey and they’ll be well worth looking out for.
