Division 2 of the British Truck Racing Championship has proven to be just as competitive as Division 1 so far this year, especially given that reigning champion Jake Evans and last year’s runner-up Callum Eason having renewed their on-track rivalry from last season.

Back at Brands Hatch in April, Evans made the perfect start to this title defence as he tallied four wins from five races, however he then had to play second fiddle to Eason at Thruxton just four weeks ago as the latter scored four wins of his own.

Owing to the fact that he is yet to finish off the podium this season, Evans holds a healthy advantage at the top of the standings, but it is a case of keeping his foot on the throttle as he can’t afford to allow Eason to continue his winning run in South Wales this weekend.

Of course, Division 2 isn’t just about Evans and Eason as there are a host of drivers that can make an impression when it comes to battling for silverware.

Former champion John Powell was a winner at Brands Hatch and has been quietly going about his business, so too has the Weaver Motorsport pairing of Bradley Harvey and Warren Harvey; who have both stood on the podium on multiple occasions already.

Finnish star Sami Ojanen is due to debut his brand-new Mercedes this weekend whilst the father-son duo of Simon Cole and Archie Handy should be back win the grid after taking the difficult decision to miss Thruxton altogether.

If in attendance, all three will be getting to grips with new machinery and it will be intriguing to see who get on top of their vehicle first.

Five action-packed races await the British Truck Racing Championship this weekend and each and every one of them promise to be packed with thrills and spills from start-to-finish.

Every lap from the weekend will be available to live on the official Truck Sport UK YouTube channel.
