Callum Eason produced one of the best performances of his British Truck Racing Championship career at Snetterton this past weekend (July 11-12) as the WDE Motorsport driver claimed a clean sweep of wins in Division 2.
Marking the halfway point in the 2026 campaign, the series’ annual visit to the Norfolk venue could go down as being a pivotal turning point as Eason made significant in-roads into the healthy points lead that had been built up by reigning champion Jake Evans.
Evans had arrived at Snetterton with an unblemished finishing record this term, however that quickly came to an end on Saturday when a mechanical issue forced him to sit out races one and two.
With ground to make up, Eason quickly set about putting points on the board as he romped to victory in Saturday’s showpiece encounters; both of which then set him up to have an even stronger Sunday.
The following day, the vice-champion from last year continued his relentless march at the front of the field as he tallied three more wins to join an elite club of drivers to have topped every competitive session on a race weekend.
After working tirelessly in the paddock throughout Saturday, Evans made it onto the track for Sunday and his team’s efforts were rewarded in races four and five as the championship leader bagged a brace of podiums.
Elsewhere, Simon Cole enjoyed his strongest showing of the season by tallying a pair of podiums too in his IVECO. There were also encouraging signs for his son Archie Handy, who also starred with a number of standout, and trouble-free, drives.
Weaver Motorsport added to their silverware collections too with father-son pairing Warren Harvey and Bradley Harvey both standing on the rostrum. Warren in particular was one to watch as he charged from the back of the grid on countless occasions.
Former champion John Powell was also amongst the podium positions throughout the weekend, while Finnish star Sami Ojanen continued to develop the Mercedes Ateco that he debuted at Pembrey last month.
The British Truck Racing Championship continues in less than a months’ time at Donington Park on August 8-9.
