The British Truck Racing Championship reaches the halfway mark of one of its most competitive ever seasons at Snetterton this weekend (July 11-12), where the stage is set for more blockbuster battles across Division 1.

Having wowed the crowds at Brands Hatch, Thruxton and Pembrey this year, the countrys biggest and best motorsport spectacle is now revved up to deliver five more unmissable contests in Norfolk.

Division 1 – the series’ premier class – has been a haven for variety with no less than ten different drivers standing on the top step of the podium across the opening 15 races. One of them is championship leader David Jenkins.

Bidding to clinch what would be a second Division 1 title, the MAN driver has been wheel-perfect at every turn so far with two wins and countless more podium finishes providing the backbone to his challenge.

While Jenkins leads the way, his points advantage remains relatively slender due to the relentless efforts of ten-time champion Stuart Oliver. Once again in the hunt for honours, the Volvo VNL driver can never be discounted from being in the mix for the big spoils.

Back-to-back wins for Steven Powell has propelled him up the standings into third and with momentum on his side, the 333 Motorsport driver will be worth keeping an eye around the twists and turns of Snetterton.

Craig Reid, John Bowler and Nathan Smith complete the top six and with each of them having the taste the champagne after finishing first, all three are expected to be contending for more silverware this weekend.

Remarkably, Michael Oliver is yet to win a race this season but it remains only a matter of time before he triumphs, especially as Snetterton has been a happy hunting ground for the Hexam racer in the past.

Elsewhere, Neil Yates will continue his quest for a popular maiden win while Pembrey victor Tom O’Rourke and the returning Simon Faulkner – who is substituting for Richard Collett – complete the grid.
