Steven Powell and David Jenkins had extra reason to celebrate at Thruxton this past weekend (May 16-17) as they scooped further honours after the final chequered flag had fallen.
Both drivers enjoyed a sublime second meeting of the season, with them each charging onto the top step of the podium for the first time this term.
After enduring a frustrating opening event at Brands Hatch, 333 Motorsport’s Powell bounced back in style as he claimed victory in race three after fighting his way to the front from fourth on the grid.
That win, along with a number of other top-five performances, saw him voted by the fans as the Totalkare Driver of the Weekend.
Former Division 1 champion Jenkins also starred as he mastered the wet conditions at the high-speed Hampshire circuit to walk away with a brace of wins.
The MAN driver had to get his elbows out to do so and that meant overtaking. Jenkins’ progress from his starting positions therefore meant he clinched the MV Commercial / Fruehauf Hardest Charger Award.
