The British Truck Racing Championship enters the home stretch of the 2026 season this weekend (September 26-27), with the Le Mans Bugatti circuit providing the perfect setting for the penultimate event of the year.
Division 2 With just nine races now left to run – four around the world-famous Le Mans course, followed by five at Brands Hatch – all eyes are fixed on Callum Eason and Jake Evans that are currently in title contention in Division 2.
Continuing their rivalry from last season, the two have been the leading lights of the class however contrasting fortunes for the pair have meant that Eason is the one that arrives sitting atop the standings.
It was Evans that initially came flying out of the blocks as he scored a number of wins early doors, but the past two events at Snetterton and Donington Park have seen him face mechanical woes – which have cost him valuable points.
With Evans having to battle his own travails, WDE Motorsport’s Eason made sure he left no stone unturned and not only does he hold a commanding 44-point lead in the standings, but he is also on a nine-race win streak at the moment.
Both drivers starred at this corresponding round last year and should Evans be firing on all cylinders this weekend, the stage is set for a thrilling head-to-head battle that neither one will want to come out second best from.
They aren’t the only Division 2 protagonists to look out for either as former champion John Powell and second-year driver Bradley Harvey have taken the fight to the top two in recent rounds and both don’t need to be asked twice to add to their silverware collections.
Warren Harvey (father of Bradley) meanwhile has enjoyed a sublime debut season and will be looking to get back among the podium places after a lean outing at Donington Park. He sits just ahead of Finnish star Sami Ojanen in his newly built Mercedes.
Next up is another father-son pairing, Simon Cole and Archie Handy. After enduring some early season woes, the Iveco double act have been enjoyed some of their strongest performances recently and they rightfully have a spring in their step.
Completing the Division 2 grid for the weekend is Willem Breedijk in his Volvo F12. The Flying Dutchman Racing driver typically cuts his teeth in mainland Europe but will make a guest appearance in the British series on Saturday and Sunday.
Edge-of-the-seat entertainment is never far away when the British Truck Racing Championship is in town so it’ll be a case of find the best vantage point, sit back and enjoy the show at Le Mans – its not to be missed.
