Steven Powell aiming high after announcing series return

Steven Powell will return to the British Truck Racing Championship this year for a third consecutive campaign in Division 1, once again teaming up with Neil Yates to pilot a MAN.

The Kent racer heads into one of the UK’s most competitive categories eager to build on the previous two years worth of experience, where he has enjoyed plenty of success since lifting the Division 2 crown in 2020.

Having featured on the podium on a number of occasions last year, Powell is focused on building a more sustained fight towards the front of the field this season.

“I’m over the moon to be able to commit to the championship once again,” said Powell. “Over the last few years the BTRC has really been on the rise and 2024 looks to be no different; it’s set to be as competitive as ever and I’m excited to be a part of it.
“This will be my third season in Division 1 and I’m confident that we can take that next step to contend for wins and podiums on a regular basis. The team have been working hard to make sure we hit the ground running at Brands Hatch in Easter.
“To be teaming up alongside Neil Yates will be great too. He’s a brilliant guy who I’ve known for some time and between us we’re bringing in some new sponsors to join us this year!”
The 2024 British Truck Racing Championship campaign kicks off at Brands Hatch over the Easter bank holiday weekend, on March 31/April 1.
