Simon Cole chasing 2024 Division 2 glory in IVECO

Simon Cole is setting his sights on launching a Division 2 title challenge in 2024 after becoming the latest driver to secure a place on the grid of the British Truck Racing Championship.

The Kent racer – who is a firm favourite among fans – will once again compete in the UK’s biggest motorsport series at the wheel of an IVECO.

Undoubtedly a stalwart of the action-packed championship, Cole endured a rollercoaster campaign last year which saw him begin in Division 1 before dropping down to Division 2,  where he netted a podium finish at Donington Park.

Having made substantial upgrades to the performance of his five-tonne machine over the course of the winter, Cole is now optimistic of what can be achieved this year.

“It’s a new season and a new challenge,” said Cole, looking ahead to the new campaign. “Last year was a bit up and down for us as we dropped down a Division mid-season – we’re raring to go now though.

“This year we’re coming back to Division 2 in Frankie the Iveco with the aim of then looking to step back up to Division 2 in 2025!

“We’ve been flat out back at base over the past few months and thanks to an 11th-hour sponsor coming onboard we’re delighted to be able to line up on the grid.

“There’s no way we could let the fans down; and with some major upgrades hopefully we’ll give them plenty to cheer about as we compete for the title.”

Brands Hatch provides the backdrop for the opening rounds of the 2024 British Truck Racing Championship on March 31/April 1.
