Neil Yates locked in for full-season in BTRC

Neil Yates will drive an MAN TGA this year as he gets set to embark on his first full season in the British Truck Racing Championship.

Yates arrived in the series at Thruxton last year where he made his debut in a DAF CF, although the meeting didn’t go according to plan as a throttle issue sent him into a high-speed barrel roll in one of the races.

Bouncing back from that incident, the popular racer went on to complete the rest of the season in Division 1, claiming a string tenth place finishes in the process.

Now returning to the championship’s premier class, and with new machinery too, Yates is keen to build on the experience that he gained throughout the 2023 campaign.

“Following my initiation into the amazing world of truck racing last season I’m looking forward to joining the field once again this year,” Yates stated.

“Having learnt all of the tracks and with the guidance of my team-mate Steven Powell – who has made all of this possible – I’m excited to make that next step and see what we can go out and achieve.

“We’ve got some exciting sponsors onboard and a brand new truck to get a handle on so there is plenty to look forward to.”

The 2024 British Truck Racing Championship commences over the Easter bank holiday weekend on the 31 March/1 April at Brands Hatch.
