David Smith will look to roll back the years in the British Truck Racing Championship this year as he makes a triumphant return behind the wheel, after spending the past seven years on the sidelines.
Set to be synonymous with die-hard fans of the British series, Smith rose to fame more than a decade ago by establishing himself as a serial front-runner, most notably powering his way to the Division 2 title in the early 2010s.
Having taken a step back in recent years, the Kent racer has been keeping a keen eye on how the championship has evolved and is now poised to get back on-track in Division 1, driving an MAN.
“I’m looking forward to returning to the British Truck Racing Championship in Division 1,” Smith commented. “I haven’t raced for seven years now and in the time I’ve been gone there has been quite a few changes.
“That being said, I’m sure that once I have blown away the cobwebs we can get on the pace and be in the mix for some top results. We’re all very much up for the challenge that lies ahead and we’re raring to go!”
Brands Hatch plays host to the opening round of the 2024 British Truck Racing Championship, with five races scheduled to play out around the world-famous Indy layout on March 31/April 1.
