As the British Truck Racing Championship heads towards its season finale at Brands Hatch, we’re taking a look back on the action that has unfolded at each round – all of which has contributed towards setting up what is a tantalising title showdown on November 1-2.
Almost a month on from the drama of Donington Park, the championship entered the home stretch of the season by heading to the longest circuit on the calendar, Snetterton, for the first leg of a crucial double-header.
Division 1 would see reigning champion Ryan Smith charge to a dominant double on the Saturday at the Norfolk track however his winning streak would fail to continue on the Sunday as the trio of John Bowler, David Jenkins and Michael Oliver each scored a win apiece.
Over in Division 2, engine issues scuppered Bradley Harvey having an opportunity to extend his points lead as Simon Cole, Jake Evans, Sami Ojanen and for the first time in his truck racing career, Callum Eason, all stood on the top step of the podium.
There were also feel-good results for Graham Poole and Archie Handy too as they each tallied their first podium finishes of the year.
Smith’s relentless points-scoring enabled him to remain at the top of the standings however the Stuart Oliver, Jenkins and Bowler all remained firmly within striking distance of the Daimler Freightliner driver.
WDE Motorsport’s Eason not only left Snetterton with a first-ever truck racing win but also the championship lead; albeit his advantage was just four points over the always impressive Jake Evans.
