As the British Truck Racing Championship heads towards its season finale at Brands Hatch, we’re taking a look back on the action that has unfolded at each round – all of which has contributed towards setting up what is a tantalising title showdown on November 1-2.
No sooner had the chequered flag fallen at Snetterton, the UK’s biggest motor racing series was soon back on the road and heading to Le Mans for the penultimate event of the season.
With a staggering number of twists and turns having played out at each of the five previous rounds, the annual pilgrimage to the famous French track proved pivotal in deciding who would go into the impending season finale with a chance at title glory.
Bidding to become a record-equalling ten-time champion, Ryan Smith produced one of his best performances of the season on French soil as he guided his Worldwide Truck Racing machine to three wins. David Jenkins would also stand on the top step of the iconic podium too.
The battle for supremacy in Division 2 proved to be just as captivating too with title combatants Callum Eason and Jake Evans taking two wins apiece.
Those results mean that Smith heads to Brands Hatch next month in the box seat to be crowned Division 1 champion for a tenth successive season. However, the quartet of Stuart Oliver, David Jenkins, John Bowler and Michael Oliver are all in mathematical contention.
Four drivers will go into the finale with a shot of being crowned Division 2 champion too. Remarkably, Evans and Eason head into the weekend tied on points with Sami Ojanen and Bradley Harvey sitting on the periphery of the conversation.
