As the British Truck Racing Championship heads towards its season finale at Brands Hatch, we’re taking a look back on the action that has unfolded at each round – all of which has contributed towards setting up what is a tantalising title showdown on November 1-2.
Donington Park marked the halfway point of the season in August and it proved to be an event to remember as the super-sized series headlined the biggest event of the year, Convoy in the Park, at the Leicestershire venue.
After enduring a torrid end to his weekend at Thruxton, Michael Oliver would come out of the blocks flying under the flight path of East Midlands airport to claim pole position in qualifying and then a flawless lights-to-flag win in race one.
David Jenkins then became the ninth different winner of the season in race two before David Smith and Ryan Smith went on to snare a win apiece. The Division 1 action concluded in the same manner in which it had begun, with Oliver once again reigning supreme.
Over in Division 2, Jake Evans bounced back from not scoring a single point at Thruxton to win four of the five races. The MAN driver had been on course for a clean sweep too had it not been for Finnish ace Sami Ojanen notching his first win of the season in the final contest.
In the standings, a remarkable eight points was all that covered Ryan Smith, Stuart Oliver and Jenkins at the top of the standings whilst Evans moved up to second in the Division 2 standings behind the consistent Bradley Harvey.
