Richard Collett will make his eagerly-anticipated return to the British Truck Racing Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The Halifax racer underwent major surgery following the second event of the season at Thruxton and has since been on the sidelines.

Following an extensive rehabilitation programme, the experienced driver is now set to get back behind the wheel for the final five races of the year.

Collett’s return couldn’t come at a better time either as it was back at Brands Hatch at the start of the year where he claimed a sublime victory.

“After months of hard work, recovery and determination, we’re delighted to announce that Richard Collett has been medically cleared to race and has received his racing licence back,” a team statement confirmed.

“Richard will make his long-awaited return to the track next weekend at Brands Hatch for the British Truck Racing Championship season finale.

“It’s been a long road back from surgery , but Richard is ready to get back behind the wheel of the #95 yellow truck once again.

“A massive thank you to everyone who has supported Richard throughout his recovery. Your messages and encouragement have meant a lot to the whole team.”
