John Powell is eyeing success in the British Truck Racing Championship in 2024 after announcing he will return to the series in a brand-new DAF.
Embarking on what will be an exciting new chapter, Powell – who is the brother of Division 1 contender Steven Powell – will sport a fresh look for forthcoming campaign thanks to the backing of new headline sponsors, Greenhous Group.
Powell will enter the year looking to take the fight to defending Division 2 champion Paul Rivett, who he battled hard against throughout 2023. Scoring a total of nine victories last season, the Tonbridge-based racer ended the year finishing third and now he’s back to try and better that by moving up to top spot.
“I’m happy to be back on the grid and looking forward to the start of the season,” Powell commented. “This year is a fresh chapter in our team and everyone has been working so hard behind the scenes to ensure we have the best possible chance from Round 1.
“Being able to welcome the Greenhous Group to the track is brilliant and with they’re support and our amazing new truck, I’m optimistic we can have a good year.”
The 2024 British Truck Racing Championship begins later this month on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend of March 31/April 1.
