Graham Poole is looking to ‘enjoy the moment’ in the British Truck Racing Championship this season as he teams up with 333 Motorsport for his debut campaign in Division 2.
Poole is one of several new additions to the grid for 2025 and will run out of the same awning that will field Division 1 runners Steven Powell and Neil Yates this year.
Despite this year being his debut in the sport, Poole has a long lineage with the haulage industry courtesy of his day-to-day business; Graham Poole Road Transport.
“I’ve been involved with trucks all my life in one way or another,” said Poole. “Truck Racing has been a passion of mine since the late 1980s and early 1990s – when Steve Parish was very much in his prime.
“More recently I’ve become further involved by attending events with my show trucks. Over time I’ve got to know a lot of the teams and a result I’ve been a sponsor of Bowler Racing for the past five years.”
Not content watching on from the sidelines, a discussion in France last September soon set the wheels in motion for him to ensure that he will be behind the wheel this year.
He explained: “I’ve always fancied having a go at racing myself but the opportunity never arose, however I decided to get my race licence anyway. At Le Mans I had a chat with Neil and he mentioned it to Steven who then call me to arrange a meeting.
“I was thrilled when Steven offered me the opportunity to drive one of his trucks for the 2025 season – it’s a chance I wasn’t going to let slip away. We’ve since tested at Pembrey, filled out all the necessary paperwork and are now raring to go.”
When it comes to aims and expectations for the forthcoming season, Poole is remaining realistic on what can be achieved.
“This will be my first-ever experience of racing so I don’t really have any great expectations,” he said. “I just want to enjoy the moment and give it my best shot!”
The 2025 British Truck Racing Championship season commences at Brands Hatch on April 19-20.
