Cole Trucksport have announced that Simon Cole will sit out this weekend’s (November 1-2) British Truck Racing Championship finale at Brands Hatch.
Hot on the heels of recently opening a new business, C&H Commercials, the experienced racer has elected to step down from driving duties due to work commitments.
The Kent team will however still have a presence at Brands Hatch this weekend with Cole’s son, Archie Handy, representing the squad.
Handy – who scored a podium finish at Snetterton earlier in the season – will be behind the wheel of Cole’s #41 machine for the final five races of the campaign.
A team statement read: “Our team owner Simon has recently opened a new business C&H Commercials. Due to work commitments Simon will sit out from the final race weekend of the year.
“With this in mind, Archie will be in the seat of the 41 Iveco for the weekend after pushing hard this year in his Volvo. As a team we are one big family and we thank everyone for their continued support. “
