The British Truck Racing Championship is delighted to announce that it will be partnering with men’s mental health charity MANUP? this year to raise both funds and awareness, on and off the track.
As one of the UK’s most popular motorsport championship’s, the BTRC will use its platform – which sees thousands of people flock trackside to witness the action as well as many more following online – to make a difference away from the racing.
Started in 2019, MANUP? exists to raise awareness about mental health among men, specifically breaking the stigma that surrounds the subject by encouraging openness. A key objective of the charity is to promote the conversation – something that the championship will look to help do.
Our the course of the year there will be a wide range of fundraising initiatives taking place, all of which will be communicated in due course.
Dan Somers, MANUP? Chief Executive and Founder, said: “As part of my commitment to breaking the stigma around men’s mental health, I’m proud to be partnering with the British Truck Racing Championship.
“At MANUP?, we reach men where they are, and BTRC offers a unique opportunity to amplify this message. Despite the fact that we are competing on the track, we are also driving a crucial conversation that illustrates mental health awareness has no boundaries.”
“We’re excited for the new season and starting this partnership in particular,” added Gordon Snell, BTRC Championship Manager. “The work MANUP? have been doing to promote the discussion around men’s mental health is to be commended and we want to use our platform to push the conversation further.
“We know that our fantastic fans are not only passionate about the sport but they are supportive of good causes, as has been proven in the past. Raising awareness for men’s mental health is extremely important to all of us and we’ve got lots of initiatives in the pipeline to do just that.”
The 2024 British Truck Racing Championship commences at Brands Hatch on the 31 March/1 April before going on to take centre stage at Pembrey, Thruxton, Donington Park, Snetterton and Le Mans, before culminating back at Brands Hatch in November.
